Reflections from a Yoga Teacher *Trainee*
I recently began my journey to become a yoga teacher (because the continuing education never stops) and have loved every minute of the process! Here are a few things that came to mind during my first week:
Trust in the process: After almost booking a 2-week out-of-the-country intensive for my yoga teacher training (YTT), I came across the NYC Y7 training and instantly knew that it was the perfect fit. From the leadership team to the foundation of the program, built on inclusivity and diversity, to honoring the history of the yoga practice, I felt right at home.
Understand and connect: Every person has a story that has shaped their view of the world – if we can trust and work to understand humanity, we can work together to create a more connected community and world.
Yoga is for everyone – not just the flexible, not just the injured, not just the stereotypical ‘yogi’… everyone and every*body* can benefit from a yoga practice.. if you just give it a chance.
Get curious: about yoga, life,…your inner purpose… Finding this inner awareness is a lifelong journey but it is the route to true fulfillment, connection and knowledge of the self. It is a journey that leads to genuine understanding (of the world and those around us).
“Yoga is the entry point to liberation inside”
I can’t wait to share more about this journey and some NYC trips to practice with the Y7 team. Stay tuned for breath work, guided meditation, and yoga classes in the near future!
